2.5 week PAID virtual internship where they’ll get a crash course in entrepreneurship, work with teens from across the city, and build a business of their own. FREE virtual camp run in partnership with Google for middle school girls - to learn about entrepreneurship, meet female founders making an impact, and collaborate to create business ideas. Applications are due by Monday, March 1st:This program will run during CPS spring break (March 29th-April 2nd) and is open to middle school girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In order to participate, students will need access to a working laptop and an internet connection.

Summer Programs
CHICAT’s online summer sessions for rising middle school students and in-person high school programs start on Monday, July 6. This year students can learn skills from CHICAT’s expert instructors ranging from developing and designing Chicago architecture to creating their own beats.
For Middle Schoolers:
Middle school classes will be provided Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM during three sessions starting on July 6, July 19, and August 2.
Session 1: July 6 - July 16 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Session 2: July 19 - July 30 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Session 3: August 2 - August 13 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
For High Schoolers:
Partnered with After School Matters to provide paid-apprenticeship programs to our high school students. Programs will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. They will take place in-person at the Chicago Center for Arts & Technology. The center will take COVID precautions and practice social distancing. Masks are required. VIRTUAL SOUTH SIDE SUMMER STEM CAMP
Who: Current 4th and 5th grade students
What: Free camp hosted by UChicago STEM Education features daily online camp meetings with STEM educators and at-home activities. Content will consist of mathematics, engineering and cryptography activities. A kit of materials and supplies will be provided to each student.

MEDICAL CAREERS EXPOSURE & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM (MEDCEEP)
Who: High school students from the South and West sides
What: The summer cohort of the Medical Careers Exposure and Emergency Preparedness Program at UChicago Medicine. This program teaches first-aid skills, features panel discussions with Black and Latinx medical professionals, and offers a safe space for students to talk about and process experiences with violence.

UCHICAGO PROMISE MOVE UP: VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS
Who: CPS & Charter schools’ students
What: Students looking to learn more about UChicago or the admissions process at other highly selective schools, UChicago admissions counselors will be hosting free, virtual office hours. Spanish-speaking staff are available upon request.

DIGITAL STORYTELLING INITIATIVE PRODUCTION INSTITUTE
Who: South Side residents who are 19+ years old and are not currently enrolled in a school or college program.
What: The Logan Center has partnered with the Community Film Workshop of Chicago to create the Production Institute: a 10-week summer filmmaking intensive aimed at making high-quality digital production training accessible to media makers from the South Side.
